Title: Snow White
Teater: Teatret i Midten
A new fairy tale opera for the whole family!
The music has hints of Broadway when Paul Schwartz composes our brand new version of Snow White and the text has lots of poetry and humor when Lars Oluf Larsen writes. On top of that the set up gets lots of energy and youth when the soloists come from the talent line on Musikdramatisk Theatre School.
Headmaster Pernille Elimar is also the director of the performance. For the last year she’s been giving tools to the young talents, so they can fill out the roles that are created for them.
MidVest Juniorkor form the ensemble, while the Royal Ballet School in Holstebro provides talented dancers.
Snow White and the beauty inside
The queen of Vesterland is divinely beautiful, which her magic mirror faithfully tells her every morning when she gets her hair done by her hairdresser. The queen’s daughter, Snow White also want to be beautiful, but the only one who felt that way was her father, the king, and he is dead.
When the mirror one day changes its mind and appoint Snow White for the most beautiful, the queen takes immediate action. She orders her hunter to get Snow White out of the way, but a disguised prince from the East who has come to bring peace between the two kingdoms, falls in love at first sight and rescues her.
Snow White flees into the forest where she meets seven orphans who are living a miserable life in their small hut. The prince is in love and is looking for Snow White, but so is the vengeful Queen. But who finds her first? And what’s the beauty of it all?
